Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh has requested that by 2030, 50% of office buildings and 50% of residential houses will use self-produced and self-consumable rooftop solar power.



Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha has just signed Directive No. 20/CT-TTg of the Prime Minister on enhancing electricity saving in the period of 2023-2025 and the following years.


According to the Directive, in the context that the electricity supply in the period of 2023 - 2025 and the following years will face many challenges, the Prime Minister requested that in the period of 2023-2025 and the following years, the whole country must strive annually save at least 2% of total power consumption; reduce power loss across the entire power system to less than 6% by 2025; reduce the peak load capacity of the national power system through the implementation of power demand management and adjustment programs by at least 1,500 MW by 2025.


" Strive to 2030, 50% of office buildings and 50% of residential houses will use self-produced and self-dissipating rooftop solar power (for on-site consumption, not selling electricity into the national electricity system). By the end of 2025, strive for 100% of street lighting using LED lights ", the directive stated.

Restaurants, hotels, commercial service establishments, office complexes and apartment buildings turn off or reduce at least 50% of the outdoor decorative advertising lighting capacity at the evening peak of the electrical system according to local power company requirements...


The Prime Minister encouraged households to install and use a rooftop solar power system for their own use on-site, a solar water heating system.


For manufacturing enterprises, encouraging the implementation of the program of enterprises participating in voluntary agreements to implement solutions on energy saving, electricity-saving, rooftop solar power installation, and implementation consultancy. energy saving and efficient solutions.


The Prime Minister requested the Ministry of Industry and Trade to develop and implement programs to encourage rooftop solar power in businesses and households, and a program to popularize electricity-saving equipment in households such as air conditioners. , refrigerator, LED light, washing machine...


The Ministry of Industry and Trade directs Vietnam Electricity to optimize the operation of power plants and transmission and distribution grids in order to effectively use primary energy sources and reduce power loss throughout the system.
