![]() 2025 – Export weakness, domestic demand as the main driver Vietnam rubber exports declined for the third consecutive year and continued losing share in key markets amid rising competition; growth in ASEAN was largely volume-driven with thin margins. Export prices fell sharply in 2H/2025, no longer providing support.
In contrast, domestic consumption increased +11.4% YoY, reaching around 70% of export volume, supported by rapid expansion of the tire manufacturing sector. Domestic supply rose modestly, while imports remained high to serve processing, re-export and local production.
2026 Outlook – Rising risks, limited upside The outlook is less favorable as exports face slower global demand growth and intensifying competition.
Traceability requirements (EUDR) emerge as a key structural challenge, given fragmented production and reliance on imported raw materials. While global rubber prices may remain elevated, geopolitical risks add uncertainty. Domestic supply growth remains constrained due to shrinking plantation areas and weather-related risks. |
