In October 2025, export turnover contracted sharply (-26% YoY and -44% MoM) as both export volume and average export prices weakened simultaneously. The average export price declined by nearly 11% compared with the previous month, in line with global price movements.
Export volumes, after flattening in September, fell significantly in October, down -37% MoM and -31% YoY. The decline was broad-based across most markets — including traditionally resilient destinations such as Cambodia and Singapore. Meanwhile, emerging markets such as India, Brazil, Argentina, and Ghana recorded no new transactions during the period.
As a result, October export sales — particularly among leading producers — reversed sharply after strong gains in the first three quarters. Notably, Phu My Fertilizer’s export sales dropped substantially, partly due to a 45-day plant maintenance shutdown and partly because the company did not secure any large-value orders from India as it did in Q3.

Fertilizer demand in the next two months will likely remain affected by the lingering impact of the recent storm cycle, as certain farming areas are still in the process of soil restoration and damage assessment. That said, the agricultural sector is accelerating adjustments to cropping schedules and replanting efforts to offset lost acreage, suggesting that demand may gradually recover from late December.
