January Vietnam economic macro indicators continued to show clearer signs of improvement, particularly in manufacturing and exports. However, underlying risks and the delayed recovery of the domestic private sector (DDI), consumption, and the interest rate environment warrant close monitoring.

Jan-Feb electricity generation hits 38.61 billion kWh

Total electricity generation in February stood at 20.22 billion kWh, a year-on-year increase of 9.4 percent, Electricity of Vietnam (EVN) reports.


The figure brings the total in the first two months of the year to 38.61 billion kWh.


Hydropower accounted for 27.4 percent, coal-fired thermal power 42.7 percent, gas turbines 11.2 percent, and renewable energy 16.7 percent.


Transmission output reached 30.53 billion kWh in the first two months, up 0.2 percent year-on-year.


EVN focused during the period on implementing projects to expand the Hoa Binh and Ialy hydropower projects and the Quang Trach 1 thermal power project.
