The popularity of Vietnamese shrimp is due to its high quality, reliable supply, and thorough processing, as well as efforts by Vietnamese enterprises, localities, and the Vietnam Trade Office in Australia to promote its commercial process.

In 2022, Vietnam's seafood exports to Australia experienced impressive growth, with a 42.64% increase over the same period in 2021 after 11 months. This resulted in a turnover of more than $331 million.
