The administrative consolidation of Vinh Phuc, Phu Tho, and Hoa Binh provinces not only expands the region’s development space, but also marks a strategic turning point in regional planning. Building on this foundation, Phu Tho is gradually shaping a new industrial growth corridor, aiming to attract large-scale investment flows while moving toward a green and sustainable growth model in the next phase of development.

Ample development space and strong industrial potential
Following the administrative consolidation, Phu Tho Province has planned 58 industrial parks (IPs) covering a total area of more than 14,055 hectares. This represents a major advantage—a substantial industrial land reserve that few localities possess at a time when industrial land availability across the country is gradually becoming more limited. Currently, 17 industrial parks are already in stable operation, forming a dynamic industrial belt that stretches across key development zones.

The consolidation has effectively combined the industrial strengths of all three regions. From the former Vinh Phuc Province—long considered an industrial hub in Northern Vietnam—Phu Tho has inherited several modern industrial parks, including Khai Quang, Binh Xuyen I, Binh Xuyen II, Thang Long Vinh Phuc, Ba Thien I, and Ba Thien II. These locations have become major destinations for high-quality FDI inflows, particularly within global value chains for electronic components and automobile and motorcycle assembly.
From the former Hoa Binh Province, the newly consolidated region has added Luong Son Industrial Park, the Left Bank of the Da River Industrial Park, and several other parks currently under development. These projects are expected to form a strong logistics corridor and a production base for new materials.
Meanwhile, industrial parks located in the former Phu Tho Province, such as Thuy Van, Trung Ha, Phu Ha, and Cam Khe, continue to play a central role in linking raw material supply areas and facilitating regional economic integration.
The attractiveness and development potential of Phu Tho’s industrial sector extend beyond its abundant land resources and are also reflected in the confidence of international investors. Despite global economic uncertainties, the province’s investment attraction performance in 2025 remained strong, with 75 newly registered projects and 101 capital expansion projects.
Notably, the FDI sector attracted more than USD 1.063 billion in new investment, bringing the total number of active projects in industrial parks to 857, with combined registered capital approaching USD 10 billion.
Rethinking development: choosing a green pathway for breakthrough growth
Entering the 2026–2030 period, Phu Tho has determined that industrial development is no longer merely a matter of expanding scale, but rather a qualitative transformation, focusing on a strategic shift toward sustainable and green growth. With the ambition of becoming a green industrial hub and knowledge-based economy center of the Northern midland and mountainous region, the province is mobilizing its resources to implement post-merger strategic planning, closely linked with regional connectivity and smart manufacturing ecosystems of the Industry 4.0 era.

This spirit of innovation is reflected in a firm commitment to reject projects that pose environmental risks, while actively creating favorable conditions for high-tech industries, precision engineering, semiconductor equipment, and renewable energy projects.
To achieve a breakthrough, Phu Tho is launching a comprehensive reform campaign aimed at optimizing the investment environment and establishing administrative “green lanes” that significantly simplify procedures for businesses. Beyond leveraging its existing advantages, the province has committed to supporting investors through preferential policies, improved capital access, modern 5G telecommunications infrastructure, and particularly through efforts to address the challenge of high-quality human resources.
In addition, stronger linkages between training institutions and the practical needs of major technology corporations are seen as a key factor in supplying the skilled workforce required for large-scale projects in the near future.
The achievements recorded in 2025 have created a solid foundation for Phu Tho to accelerate growth, enabling the province to achieve its socio-economic targets under the Resolution of the First Provincial Party Congress. With a vision of becoming a key growth pole of the Capital Region by 2030, and ultimately aiming to achieve centrally governed city status by 2045, the historic Land of the Ancestors is demonstrating a strong aspiration for transformation and development.
The alignment of Party leadership, public support, and the consensus of the business community forms a powerful internal force, enabling Phu Tho not only to preserve its millennia-old cultural heritage, but also to emerge as a new symbol of modernity, dynamism, and sustainable development in Vietnam’s new era.
