SUMMARY
 
Accumulated in the first 10 months of 2022, Vietnam's key economic indicators continue to maintain a high growth rate compared to the low base level of the same period in 2021. However, with the data just released in October 2022, it continues to show remarkable signs of difficulties and a slowing down of the domestic economy.
 
Besides the less optimistic signs, there are still some bright spots in the domestic economic picture. Domestic consumption in October remained positive. In which, retail sales of goods in October 2022 increased by 1.2% compared to the previous month and increased by 9.6% compared to the same period last year, and was the month that recorded the highest retail sales ever. Retail sales are still expected to continue to increase in the next 2 months when during the peak shopping season and the year-end Tet holiday, although consumption during this year's holiday season may be restrained by the trend of tightening spending due to the difficult economic situation.
