SUMMARY
 
Macro data for 4M/2023 has not significantly improved the national economic picture. Specifically, IIP is still growing negatively, although there are signs of improvement in the steel production sector in the month. The export value of FDI and DDI enterprises decreased by 12.4% and 14.5% respectively over the same period. Retail sales of consumer goods & services in the country reached VND2,007 trillion, a slow increase compared to Q1 (up 12.8% over the same period). In addition, the growth is mainly due to the recovery of tourism in general, international visitors in particular, andthe price increase factor.
 
The business registration data of 4M/2023 also clearly reflects the general difficulties of production and business activities & the low confidence of the business community about the business prospects. The number of newly established and re-entered enterprises in the market decreased by 2% over the same period last year, while the number of enterprises dissolved and temporarily suspended businesses increased by more than 25% over the same period last year.
