SUMMARY
In November 2023, the steel industry recorded many positive signals in production, consumption, and selling prices. Partly thanks to the main construction material consumption season, along with the promotion of public investment and the low base level of the same period.
Domestic sales in November reached its highest level since March 2022. The driving force was thanks to a significant increase in domestic consumption of construction steel, while other steel products increased by 6.9% compared to the previous month. Export output in the month maintained a positive level, similar to the previous month.
Export momentum in the month was thanks to improved demand from some major markets such as ASEAN, the US, Taiwan, and South Korea. Indian demand remains high. Meanwhile, exports to the EU decreased sharply compared to the previous month, and Brazilian demand was unstable. Exports to Australia also unexpectedly decreased sharply, equal to only 26% of the average export volume from March to November 2023.
