SUMMARY
 
The main focus of the seafood industry in August is that the export situation of the entire industry has clearly improved. The supply of some types of seafood (especially pangasius) suddenly increased sharply again after a sharp decrease last month. Shrimp and pangasius export prices continue to be low (although shrimp prices increased slightly in 08). 
 
In August 2023, the export value of the entire seafood industry unexpectedly increased significantly in the month and was the month with the highest export value since the beginning of the year (although still lower than the same period). Exports increased in the month thanks to improved demand in many markets. The most active is exporting to the US, South Korea, Australia, and the ASEAN region.
 
Seafood exports continue to be expected to increase gradually from now until the end of the year, due to the seasonal nature (holiday/year-end consumption season). According to businesses in the industry, orders from major markets are returning. In particular, the large US market is expected to have strong changes in the coming months.
 
However, many export processing enterprises are worried about the lack of raw materials to make goods. Because many households have been farming in ponds recently, the harvest output in the next 2-3 months may be limited.
