[VI] SEAFOOD INDUSTRY REPORT - MARCH 2024

SUMMARY

Cumulatively in the first 2 months of 2024, the trade balance of the seafood industry reached USD800 million. Of which, seafood exports reached USD1.21 billion.

Regarding exported goods, over the same period, shrimp and tuna grew quite well by 20%-24%, pangasius increased weaker, squid/octopus decreased slightly, and mollusks decreased by 7.4%.

Regarding the export market, the increase is due to some markets with more positive signals including China, and CPTPP (Japan, Canada, and Australia). Meanwhile, the recovery ability of the US market is unclear, and import demand from the EU and ASEAN remains weak.
