SUMMARY
 
Regarding Rice export: In August, Vietnam exported 921 thousand tons, up 39.5% over the previous month and up 28.8% over the same period. The average rice export price in August reached a record level (593 USD/ton, up 25.5% over the same period). The outlook for rice exports in the last 4 months of the year is still considered positive because many countries are still promoting rice imports to replenish their reserves. The Philippines is likely to reduce import tax from 35% to 10%. While supply is limited due to bans/restrictions on rice exports from India, Russia, and Myanmar.

Regarding cashew exports: Vietnam's cashew export output continues to increase positively in most markets. In August alone, the amount of cashew exports increased by 29% over the same period. Due to weak global cashew consumption demand in the context of inflation, it is continuing to put pressure on prices. Vietnam's average cashew export price in August continued to decrease to 5,510 USD/ton (down 5.7% over the same period), and export prices are currently at the lowest level in recent years.
 
Regarding pepper export: Accumulated in 8M/2023, Vietnam exported 188 thousand tons of pepper, an increase of 17% over the same period, and earned nearly $616 million, down 14% over the same period. Export output increased but export prices decreased by 26% over the same period, although export pepper prices have improved significantly in the last 3 months. It is forecast that Vietnam's pepper exports in the next few months will remain low because domestic supply is no longer abundant, along with demand from markets that have not improved much.
