SUMMARY
 
Regarding rice export: In Q3/2023, Vietnam's rice industry continues to benefit greatly in both price and export volume. The average export price in Q3 continued to increase by 10% compared to Q2. Export output in Q3 is still high compared to the same period last year but decreased by 8.5% compared to Q2. The reason is that many markets reduced imports, after sharply increasing reserves in the first two quarters of the year. In addition, the Philippines' import volume was affected by the country's domestic rice price ceiling policy in September.
 
Regarding cashew exports: output continues to increase, but export prices fall sharply. Specifically, export output in Q3 increased by 32% over the same period and increased by 2.9% compared to Q2. Export output is forecast to continue to increase slightly in Q4, due to cyclical factors and improvement in the US and EU markets. The average export price in Q3 decreased by 6% compared to the previous quarter and is currently at the lowest price in recent years.
 
Regarding pepper exports: Pepper export output in Q3 decreased sharply by 30.2% compared to Q2, although export volume was still higher than the same period last year. Demand from most major export markets decreased. Among them, the sharpest decline was in the Chinese market. Regarding export pepper prices in Q3, there was an improvement compared to the previous quarter, but still 25% lower than the same period. It is forecast that Vietnam's pepper exports in the next few months will maintain a low level.
