SUMMARY
 
Regarding rice exports: Rice export output in October reached 635 thousand tons, up 5% compared to the previous month. This is a high output level, although lower than the peak months of March, April, and August 2023. Support during the month came from the Philippine market reimporting after removing the domestic rice price ceiling on October 4. Demand increased significantly from the markets of Indonesia, Ivory Coast, UAE, and Taiwan.
 
Regarding cashew exports: Vietnam's cashew export output in October reached its highest level since July 2021. The average export price in the month also recovered slightly, after many months of continuous decline but remained at a low level.
 
Regarding pepper exports: Pepper exports in October increased positively in both output and export prices. Specifically, pepper export output increased again. The increase was mainly due to demand from the US continuing to recover. EU, India, and some small markets such as South Korea, UK, and Türkiye increased well. Meanwhile, exports to the Chinese market continued to decrease because the country imported large amounts of pepper in the first months of the year. Particularly, the export price of pepper in October reached its highest level in the past year and was nearly equivalent to the same period last year.
