SUMMARY
 
In Q2/2023, Rice continues to be one of the few "brightest" items of Vietnamese exports. Rice exports continued to increase quite well. And the average rice export price of Vietnam in the month continued to increase, this is the second highest price ever. However, production output has shown signs of decreasing in recent 2 months. Accumulated 6M/2023, Vietnam's rice exports reached 4.24 million tons, up 21.3% over the same period. The average export price of 6M was USD 533/ton, up 9.0% over the same period.
 
Compared with the same period, Vietnam's cashew exports in 6M/2023 reached more than 279 thousand tons, up 11.9% in volume and 8.8% in value. Output increased in most markets, however, exports to the US, EU and Australia still decreased by 2-6% over the same period. Although there are certain positive changes, the overall situation of the industry is considered difficult to break through in a short time. Demand increased positively, but export prices remained low.
 
Compared with the same period, pepper exports in 6M/2023 reached 152.7 thousand tons, up 23.6% in volume but down 13.7% in value. Particularly in Q2/2023, pepper exports quarter slowed down, output was only equivalent to the previous quarter, but export prices improved. The main growth driver was the US and EU demand, which improved in the quarter, up 20-42% compared to the previous quarter, but still decreased over the same period.
