SUMMARY
 
Regarding rice exports: In July 2023, rice exports continued to be favorable in both quantity and export price. Specifically, the price of rice in the world market continuously escalated (especially rice from Vietnam and Thailand) after India banned the export of non-basmati and Deoiled Rice Bran Extraction. In the first 7 months of the year, Vietnam's export rice price increased by 9.4% on average over the same period last year. However, with the current movements of world rice prices, the actual export price recorded may continue to increase for at least the next 3 months. In 7M/2023, Vietnam exported 4.89 million tons of rice of all kinds (up 20.1% over the same period).
 
Regarding cashew exports: Market demand continues to be positive, however, export prices are low and businesses still face many challenges. Cashew export output in July reached 55 thousand tons, up 19.2% over the same period. This is a relatively good export volume from 2021 to now (although there is a slight decrease compared to the previous month). Output to most markets increased in the month, except for China, which dropped sharply after a very positive recovery in the previous 2 months.
 
Regarding pepper exports: Pepper export volume in July continued to decline for the fourth consecutive month, as demand from most export markets fell, except for India and Russia, which showed signs of improvement. Compared with the same period, the total export of the whole pepper industry in 7M/2023 reached 167.9 thousand tons, up 18% in volume, but down 15% in value. The average export price in 7M/2023 still decreased by 28% over the same period. Vietnam's pepper exports are forecasted to be difficult to increase when China's demand is difficult to increase as in the first months of the year and demand from the US and EU has not shown signs of improvement.
