SUMMARY
 
In April 2023, the export situation improved compared to the previous months, but still at a low level (down 22.4% compared to the same period last year). Exports improved in the month thanks to domestic fertilizer enterprises looking for new markets, while exports to large traditional markets continued to decline deeply. Exports improved, so total production and imports also increased slightly compared to the previous month, narrowing the decline to the same period last year.
 
Accumulating 4M/2023, fertilizer enterprises continue to face challenges when domestic demand is still weak, exports have not improved much, inventories are high, and profit margins are narrow due to much lower selling prices compared to the same period last year. Accordingly, compared to the same period last year, the total domestic production of fertilizers decreased by 2%, the total import volume decreased by 26.7%, and the export decreased by 17.2%.
