[VI] FERTILIZER INDUSTRY REPORT 2022 & OUTLOOK 2023

SUMMARY

In general, in 2022, the fertilizer industry benefited from a shortage of global fertilizer supply, increased exports, and increased prices in the first half of the year. However, exports slowed down in the second half of the year, and domestic demand also dropped sharply in the context of a prolonged and high increase in fertilizer prices.

Specifically, in 2022, the industry's production output will reach 6.56 million tons of inorganic fertilizers (down 2.7% over the same period last year) and 2.91 million tons of organic fertilizers (up 13.9% over the same period last year). In particular, due to the slow domestic consumption and export situation from April 2022, the operating capacity of fertilizer factories is also low (except for urea) in the period of April - November.
