VIETNAM MACRO AND INDUSTRY REPORT - 07/2021

SUMMARY

In 4M/2021, the whole country's macro-economic picture is quite bright (in terms of production, consumption, investment attraction, and especially exports and trading liquidity on the stock market increased sharply). Although the whole economy in May and June (especially the provinces of Bac Giang, Bac Ninh, and Ho Chi Minh City) was affected by the new COVID-19 epidemic, the overall 6-month results of the indexes economy remained at a positive level.

However, a new epidemic since the end of April until now, spreading to most provinces and cities across the country, and happening especially seriously in Ho Chi Minh City, has been having a profound impact on production and business activities, import and export, and the social life of the people. The socio-economic picture in the last 6 months of the year is expected to face many challenges.
