SUMMARY
In Q2/2022, O/N interest rates fluctuated strongly in an upward direction closely following the SBV's net pumping in the OMO market. While deposit interest rates have also been adjusted by commercial banks many times from the beginning of the year until now.
Especially from the first half of July, the exchange rate also continued to increase strongly following the strong trend of the USD in the international market. The exchange rate on the free market is sometimes above 24,000 VND.
System-wide credit continued to increase rapidly in Q2, but has slowed somewhat since the beginning of June until now in the context that most commercial banks have "run out of room" for credit, and the State Bank has not yet assigned a new limit.
