SUMMARY
 
Seafood export value in Q1/2022 reached US$2.52 billion, up 45.4% year-on-year, thanks to positive market demand and favorable export prices. Notably, March 2022 is the month with the highest-ever seafood export value exceeding 1 billion USD and up 38.7% over the previous year. In which, shrimp exports in Q1/2022 increased by 44.4% over the previous year, and pangasius exports increased by 89.8% over the previous year.

In terms of markets, most of the major markets increased strongly, notably the US increased by 70.8% year-on-year, and the EU increased by 57.6% year-on-year. Especially, exports to China rebounded sharply, increasing by 104% over the previous year, although the country is still persistently pursuing the goal of "Zero Covid", tightening the food import process and blocking many provinces and cities
