China wants to participate in major infrastructure development in Vietnam

The Ministry of Planning and Investment said that on the occasion of attending the Belt and Road International Cooperation Summit in China, on the afternoon of October 19, the Minister of Planning and Investment Nguyen Chi Dung had a meeting. working with Mr. Bach Ngoc Chien, Director of China Harbor Construction Corporation (CHEC), representative of China Transportation Construction Corporation (CCCC); Also attending were representatives of the Ministry of Transport.


Speaking at the meeting, Minister Nguyen Chi Dung welcomed the China Transportation Construction Group's plan to expand investment and business in Vietnam in the near future.


With the motto "share, cooperate, support, complement each other, win together," China Transportation Construction Group wants to participate in major infrastructure development in Vietnam, but also a strategic investor in Vietnam, sharing share experiences, training human resources, and transferring technology so that Vietnam can develop and manage an effective and sustainable infrastructure system. From there, it contributes to concretizing the policy of cooperation and connection for infrastructure development that senior leaders of Vietnam and China have agreed on.


Along with that, Minister Nguyen Chi Dung also pointed out limitations in some infrastructure development projects that Chinese enterprises have implemented in Vietnam recently.


At the meeting, Mr. Bach Ngoc Chien, Director of China Port Construction Corporation, gave an overview of China Transport Construction Group and China Port Construction Corporation, investment situation, and business. Group's business in Vietnam.


Accordingly, CCCC Group began operating in Vietnam in 1996, and to date has successfully implemented more than 20 infrastructure and energy projects such as Hanoi-Hai Phong Expressway; Cai Mep-Thi Vai port; Vinh Tan-Binh Thuan thermal power plant... and wind power projects.


“In the coming time, the Group hopes to participate in major infrastructure development programs and projects in Vietnam such as North-South high-speed railway development plan; investment and construction of Ho Chi Minh City - Trung Luong expansion, Ho Chi Minh City - Moc Bai, Dong Dang (Lang Son) - Tra Linh (Cao Bang) expressway projects; wind power development projects...", Mr. Bach Ngoc Chien, Director of China Port Construction Corporation emphasized.


Exchanging opinions with representatives of the China Transport Construction Group, Minister Nguyen Chi Dung highly appreciated the scale and achievements of the Group's business investment activities in Vietnam and globally; At the same time, introduced to the China Transport Construction Group some orientations, goals, and development situations of Vietnam's main infrastructure sectors including highways, railways, seaports, airports, and energy infrastructure.


Minister Nguyen Chi Dung said that the Government of Vietnam has issued the Action Program for infrastructure development for the period 2021 - 2030, vision to 2050, and the National Electricity Development Plan for the period 2021-2030. , vision to 2050 (Power Plan VIII). Accordingly, Vietnam encourages corporations with financial capacity, technology, and high management levels to participate in bidding for key infrastructure projects.


Director Bach Ngoc Chien pledged that China Port Construction Corporation will make more efforts to effectively participate in infrastructure development projects in Vietnam so that China Transport Construction Corporation truly becomes a "bridge" of cooperation and friendship between the two countries China and Vietnam.
