SUMMARY
 
In August 2023, world fertilizer prices in general and Urea in particular continued their upward trend during the month. In particular, prices increased sharply in the first week of September to 434 USD/ton on September 6, 2023, after a number of large Chinese fertilizer manufacturers announced to stop signing new export contracts from the beginning of September at the request of the Government.
 
In line with the world price trend, factories and agents have also had several price increases in the domestic market since the beginning of August until now. Urea products increased the most (~31% compared to the beginning of July).
 
Regarding exports: Vietnam's export fertilizer output in August reached its highest level ever, except for some periods of increase in the first half of 2022, helping to narrow the cumulative decline in 8M/2023.
 
Outlook: Vietnam's fertilizer export price is likely to increase in the next 1-2 months; Domestic selling prices may also maintain current levels or increase slightly. As for world fertilizer prices in general, and Urea in particular, they may still increase slightly; But it is difficult to make a strong breakthrough to the highlands of the late 2021 - early 2022 period.
