SUMMARY
 
The fertilizer industry faces many challenges, after a very positive year (2022). Specifically:
 
+ The world fertilizer price level throughout 2023 is much lower than in 2022, although there is an improvement in the second half of the year. The average export price decreased by nearly 33% over the same period, domestic selling prices also remained at a continuously low level in the first 6 months of the year.
 
+ Export output decreased by 11.7% over the same period. Due to the import demand of the markets returning to normal, after 1 year of supply fluctuations in 2022.
 
+ Domestic fertilizer demand has increased. However, the amount of imports, especially Urea and NPK, increased quite strongly, while these are two types of fertilizers whose domestic supply has exceeded demand. This increases competitive pressure for domestic brands.
 
OUTLOOK: Business results of fertilizer enterprises in 2024 are expected to be more positive than in 2023, but the increase is unlikely to be large.
