SUMMARY
 
Accumulated 4M/2023, total production output reached 40 million tons, still down 4.8% compared to the previous year. In April alone, it reached 12.1 million tons, up 3% from the previous month, after having increased sharply in March 2023.
 
However, exports remained dismal. Domestic consumption has not shown any signs of recovery. Total industry consumption reached 29.56 million tons in 4M/2023, down 14.8% over the same period last year. In which, the domestic market reached 19.2 million tons (down 7.7% over the same period), and export reached 10.4 million tons (down 25.5% over the same period).
 
It is expected that domestic consumption may prosper in the coming months, after the Government's efforts to remove difficulties for real estate projects. From the end of April until now, many real estate projects of large corporations across the country have been cleared of legal obstacles and started to restart.
