SUMMARY
In the third quarter of 2022, Vietnam's rice export volume still grew quite well compared to the same period in 2021 but decreased by 5.5% compared to the previous quarter.
Notably, the volume of rice exports in September 2022 is not as positive as previous expectations about the impact of India's rice export ban. The reason is attributed to India extending the effective period of this ban by 1 month compared to the original plan. Accordingly, foreign importers prioritized buying rice from India before the ban officially took effect.
