SUMMARY
 
The garment and footwear/handbag industries continued to recover positively both in terms of production and export. Generally, in the first 5 months of the year, the export value of garments and fabrics reached USD15 billion (up 22.2% over the previous year), footwear reached USD9.4 billion (up 12% over the previous year), handbags reached USD1.64 billion (up 20% over the previous year).
 
In which, exports increased well in most major markets, especially the US, EU, Canada, and Australia. While Asian markets are less active. However, the export of goods to Japan and South Korea has gradually improved in the last 2 months. The situation of exports to China continued to be at a low level compared to the same period last year, although there was an improvement compared to the previous month.
