Vietnam imports and exports nearly 30 billion USD per month

According to preliminary statistics just announced by the General Department of Customs, in the first half of January, the trade situation had a clear improvement. Vietnam's total import-export turnover of goods reached nearly 30 billion USD, an increase of about 1.54 billion USD over the same period last year.


According to the General Department of Customs, export turnover in the first half of the year reached nearly 15.09 billion USD. Compared to the second half of December 2023, turnover decreased slightly, but compared to the same period last year, export turnover increased by 600 million USD.


Of which, phones of all types and components reached 2.86 billion USD (up 6.7% over the same period last year); computers, electronic products, and components reached 2.25 billion USD (up 22.2%); Other machinery, equipment, tools, and spare parts reached 1.63 billion USD, textiles and garments reached 1.29 billion USD...

In the opposite direction, Vietnam's goods imports in the first half of the year reached 14.7 billion USD, an increase of 1 billion USD over the same period last year. Vietnam's total import-export turnover in the 15 days of January reached nearly 29.8 billion USD, an increase of 1.54 billion USD over the same period last year. Contributing to the total import-export turnover of the country, FDI enterprises reached 20.5 billion USD, an increase of 0.9% (equivalent to an increase of 174 million USD), the domestic business sector reached 9.3 billion USD, an increase of 12.7% (corresponding to an increase of 1.05 billion USD).


The trade balance of goods in the first half of the year had a surplus of 384 million USD.


In 2023, the country's total import-export turnover will reach 681.04 billion USD, down 6.9% (equivalent to a decrease of 50.25 billion USD compared to the previous year). Of which exports reached 354.67 billion USD, down 4.6% and imports reached 326.37 billion USD, down 9.2%. The trade balance reached a record of 28.3 billion USD.
